MED20: Phlebotomy Technician
This course teaches students how to perform blood collection using various methods, such as vacuum collection, syringes, capillary skin puncture, and butterfly needles. You’ll also learn about specimen handling, processing, and labeling, with a focus on infection prevention and patient safety. Certification for Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) is offered by the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
MED 18 and 19: Clinical Theory and Simulations
In this course, students will learn about the different systems in the human body, like the skeletal, muscular, nervous, cardiovascular, and others. You’ll also study how these systems work together. The course will also teach basic anatomy and physiology, which are essential for anyone pursuing a career in healthcare.
Students will also work as part of a healthcare team. You’ll learn basic first aid, how to take vital signs, how to prepare and educate patients, and how to perform basic clinical procedures. MED30A: Electronic Medical Records
