They will gain experience creating documents, forms, and letters in Microsoft Word and spreadsheets in Excel. This course introduces students to healthcare’s legal and ethical aspects, including physician-patient relationships, professional liability, malpractice, medical practice acts, informed consent, and bioethics.
In this course, students will learn pharmacy laws and regulations, how to read prescriptions, inventory management, and introduction to compounding and preparation of sterile products.
This course will teach students how to use pharmaceutical mathematics, including solving problems encountered in drug preparation and distribution and converting measurements with the apothecary of metric systems.
In this course, students will learn about therapeutic agents, their effects on the human body, and their role in disease management. The course provides information regarding drug dosages, side effects, interactions, toxicities, and incompatibilities.
This course will teach students prescription processing and preparation, pharmacy operations, and workflow. Students will also learn about alternative therapies, and herbal remedies.
The course aims to teach students about different types of hospitals, hospital pharmacy standards and procedures, hospital orders, and communication with nursing staff. It also discusses advanced and specialized pharmacy technician opportunities. Students will learn institutional pharmacy operations, management, and workflow.
This course will teach students about different types of insurance, pharmacy billing, and inventory management.
This course reviews all the activities and responsibilities that a pharmacy technician may perform as part of the job. The course prepares students to sit for the national certification exam.
