Instructor Profile: Rodney Blount

Pharmacy Technician & Lab Procedures

While Pharmacy Technician Instructor Rodney Blount has only been at CCI Training Centre for six months, he already feels like one of the family.

“The staff have all been friendly and extremely helpful as I adjust to their procedures,” Mr. Blount said.

“CCI Training Center has a small, family-like atmosphere where students can get the individual attention they need to be successful in their chosen career.”

Mr Blount said his students were “thirsty for knowledge and eager to learn” and his classes would prepare them for certification exams and the workplace.

“The lab training prepares my students for all types of entry level positions as well as the hospital iv sterile product certification,” Mr Blount said.

“This certification requires students understand the process of mixing medications into an intravenous fluid bag within a hospital setting. In preparation for the pharmaceutical compounding certification, I show students the steps they need to take to prepare medication using raw ingredients.”

“I spend a lot of time providing hands-on preparation for the students’ future career.”

Mr Blount said CCI Training Center gave students the best possible chance to achieve their career goals.

“I hope my student gain the same passion that I have for helping the public within a pharmacy technician position,” Mr. Blount said.

“I want them to look at this as an important opportunity to work in a career where they can return home and know that they have changed a life for the better.”
