Students will utilize the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom and apply those principles in a functional medical facility environment.

The course introduces medical assistance to students who are studying medications and drugs. Students will learn the sources of drugs, their generic and brand names, the legal classification of drugs, routes and drug administration, and drug interactions.

This course provides students with practical experience using medical records management software in a simulated medical office. Students will learn to enter patient data, post charges, handle payments, run financial reports, and submit insurance claims.

The course helps students perform medical office procedures such as scheduling, billing, setting up reminders, and filing insurance claims so that they are familiar with the daily tasks of a medical assistant.

The course provides placement of the student in a clinical setting, where the student will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the clinical and laboratory duties in a medical facility. Students will utilize the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom and apply those principles in a functional medical facility environment.
