Records, billing and coding training for the real world

CCI Training Center’s Health Information program provides practical electronic medical records, insurance billing, and medical coding training.

Using case studies, you will use coding manuals to solve complex code assignments to find the correct code for each diagnosis or procedure the patient has undergone. Your detective skills will be put to the test, as you apply what you learn in real-life scenarios applicable to the variety of workplaces that require insurance billing and medical coding skills.

Our instructors don’t just tell you what you can expect in a medical or insurance office; they show you. When you enroll in CCI’s Health Information training in DFW, during your hands-on class time, you will learn:

• what to expect in the workplace in both inpatient and outpatient environments
• electronic medical records procedures and the process of coding
• how to use coding manuals to locate diagnoses or procedures
• how to assign universally identifiable codes to a patient’s medical records
• insurance guidelines and how to fill out, analyze and process complex insurance forms
• how and when to interact with physicians and other providers to ensure accuracy
• how to keep track of patient data over multiple visits, while maintaining patient confidentiality and information security
• how to generate accounts receivable and aging reports for their provider
• appropriate legal follow-up procedures for patient and insurance company payments
